virtual assistant VAYou may hear a lot of talk about using Virtual Assistants and wonder…

Why Use a Virtual Assistant

when I am completely capable of doing the work?
Let me ask you, why do the work that “anyone” can do when you should be doing the work that ONLY YOU can do?  What I mean by this is why spend time formatting or writing when your best efforts are sales or perhaps customer retention?  Let me fill you in on some tips that successful business owners know and why a VA can be extremely beneficial to your business.

Benefits of Having a Virtual Assistant:

  • There is no paid down time. VA’s invoice only for the exact time spent working on your projects and supporting your business.  You can reduce overhead and increase productivity because a VA works for you only if and when you require it.  No need to commit to hourly rates or salaries when you don’t have to.
  • Minimize overhead costs.  There is no need to supply a VA with a computer or other office equipment because a professional VA operates a fully functional home office.
  • No Agency Fees.  As an independent contractors, VA’s are responsible for their own taxes and benefits. There is no additional cost to you beyond the actual rate at which you contract.
  • Little to no training involved.  For most tasks/projects, there is little to no training involved because a VA is skilled at providing virtual services, so you have more time for your own clients.
  • Provides balance to your personal & work life.  Do you spend nights and weekends trying to stay current on your administrative tasks or keeping up with your social media?  By outsourcing those tasks to a VA the tasks get accomplished and you can focus on growing your business and still having a life.  Balance is a big part of a successful business.

2018 Update:

Since this post was originally posted in 2015, Virtual Assistants have really become a way of life. The tips in this post still ring true for the basics and we still stand behind them.

Think about what is really on trend, almost 4 years later. Social media is still on top and most VA’s offer this service. It is one of the most requested tasks we get. If you are thinking about taking Social Media off of your plate and hiring someone, here is a checklist that we suggest when you are interviewing candidates. Be sure to find the person that clicks with your business and resonates with your plans and goals.
