Cloud-based solutions for small business file storage

Imagine a worst-case scenario for your business. What would it be? Would it involve losing your files and documents? Chances are, that is one of the worst-case scenarios that could strike your business. We’re not trying to scare you or to be a negative Nelly, but simply trying to point out that your business needs to be prepared for if or when your files are lost or are in danger of being lost. Today, we’re discussing why cloud storage is important and sharing cloud-based solutions for small business file storage to help get your valuable data up in the cloud.

For those not in the know, pay attention because this is very important. Cloud-based solutions offer files storage where your data is stored remotely on servers. You can access your data via the Internet or what everyone refers to as the cloud. It is so important that you know this information because in the event of a catastrophe, like a fire or simply a crashed computer, your documents not stored in the cloud or another remote location could be destroyed and you would not have access…they would be gone. That then begins a domino effect of many more problems to have to deal with on top of the loss itself.

Another benefit to using cloud-based storagdata-1188512_1920e? Remote access. Files stored on the cloud, because they are stored via the Internet, can be accessed wherever you can access the Internet. This means that wherever you are, you can access your files with a username and password. This opens up many possibilities for traveling for business. Like, not having to save your presentation to a thumb drive when you can just log into your cloud storage provider’s website and accessing it from there.

Cloud storage also takes up less space in your office, as in they take up no space. Instead of cluttering your office with more stuff, like external hard drives, check out this option instead. Clutter, or more space? I’d go with more space.

So, if you’re not on the cloud yet, where do you start? We recently read the PC Mag roundup of the top cloud storage providers for 2016 and it was so informative. This useful list breaks down each provider with pricing, storage information and full reviews. Click here to access PC Mag’s roundup.
